D's "E. A.", Part Four

Laura and Drew: technology helps!

Days 8-11 became a blur of activity from early morning till midnight and sometimes beyond.  Each time we completed a list a new one appeared, but with everyone pitching in to help, somehow it all got done.

We did take a little time for some monkey business ( or dog tricks in our case) as Lynn gets the labs ready for a treat.
A big event one evening was the final fitting of the bride's wedding gown.   How beautiful!   Oh, yeah, and the dress was absolutely awesome, too.   The champagne colored swirls of confection and Laura's statuesque body were a perfect match.
Friday: Two days to go before the wedding is here.
Thank goodness for friends with helping hands.   The programs were folded, beribboned and stacked in almost no time flat.  Whew!  One more project done.

 Back to the outside:

Laura and Drew wrapped white lights around the trunks of two trees and some of their lower branches while I lit up the arch with lights.  When the rented chairs arrived it hit us that now we were fast approaching the Big Event.

Now Lynn is getting jazzed!

Even though the temps remained high, Lee kept mowing and Lynn found just the perfect spot for all the hanging baskets.

I went back inside and started baking......coconut cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and a mini-wedding cake shaped chocolate cake.  The cake was a surprise for Drew and Laura that evening.   After the rehearsal in the yard, we all went to a wonderful Mexican restaurant with views overlooking a pond where geese were landing for the night.   Dessert was at the lovely home of friends of the family and the cake was a practice  run for cutting their real cake on Sunday.

Ta-da!   Finished product!  Just in time for the rehearsal.

And they did such a great job cutting the cake, too!

More tomorrow,
Debbie
