A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July.    I know I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd take this opportunity to share a couple of finish details from our Tin Can Cabin.   I've been hanging onto this Crossing sign for a couple of years now, just waiting for the right spot to use it at the river.  There was just enough space above the kitchen windows overlooking the river for both signs.

As we renamed our place River Crossing, the old "Crossing" sign fit right in with our recycled interior.   It was originally hanging roadside at a railroad crossing, which just tickles me even more since my dad worked on the Pennsylvania railroad.

And the word River is made up of photos from different architectural elements which spell out the word.   That was the part that took me forever.   And I couldn't find a frame with 5 openings!

And speaking of forever, I thought we'd never get the trim work done in the bedroom, bathroom and sewing room.   Some of the cuts up at the ceiling were a little tricky, but we love how it all turned out.   Now I just need to prime, sand and paint the doorjams.   Yuk!

 Staying in to keep cool,
Debbie
